The highlight of the trip to several of us was the visit to the “traditional” site of Jesus’ baptism. We had sought to see this location on previous trips but were unable to do so. The site has only been open one day per year (January 1) and only to those having prior military approval. The site shows how small the Jordan River really is and how polluted the waters really are. The site is also known as Qasir al-Yahud.
