Just before lunch we made our way to Caesarea Maritima (by the Sea). I was somewhat concerned as just a few weeks prior to our visit there was a strong storm that hit the site and the park was closed. It was described as a “national disaster” in the press (see here). However, the site looked the same as in previous visits. It was the port city of Herod and where Paul appealed to Caesar.
